3 Ways to Take Your Blog from a Casual Read to a Direct Sale

Health and Wellness Brands… Take a Moment to Assess Your Blogs.

Blogs add value for your readers. Blogs build trust among your clients. Blogs help your ranking in Google. But are your blogs making direct sales? They should be!

You have your health newsletter on your website. People subscribe and receive your advice a couple of times a month. You’re confident in your information and your writing, but you’re finding that your blogs aren’t really changing much for your business.

You want to offer value and share your wisdom with others, and this is the best way you can think to do so. But again, you’re not noticing an increase in sales or client calls.

So you stop. Because you started your business to help heal others. To walk with them and offer health advice. To be with them as they process hard and pivotal life moments.

You didn’t start a business to write! But everyone else on the internet seems to have a blog or newsletter… so, is it worth it?

The key isn’t to do what everyone else does. And the key isn’t to stop the content writing for your business. It's understanding how to create an effective blog. One that engages your ideal clients, offers information they're searching for, and provides next action steps.

  1. Give Your Readers the Next Step

Your readers need guidance. The value and health tips you offer aren’t going to cause them to buy your service or product immediately. Humans are stubborn creatures. We need convincing.

The role of your blogs and newsletters is, yes, to offer value and speak to your readers’ pain points. But to sell to them, you need to show them that you have solutions to the issues they face.

One of the common mistakes a lot of business owners make is not using a Call to Action (CTA) throughout their blog. CTA’s take the reader from passive to active engagement when you plan and place the CTA’s in their rightful place.

When writing a blog, take time to think about how the information you’re sharing can tie into your services. Carpe diem!

2. Stay Consistent in Your Messaging

Ever pull up LinkedIn or Instagram and feel zero inspiration for your posts?

You’re not alone. But with blogs and newsletters, you don’t have to pull out inspiration from thin air. You can actually pull inspiration from 1,000+ words!

Repurpose your blog and newsletter content for your social posts. Take snippets of the piece and highlight specific information or paragraphs.

You allow more exposure to your content and build consistency in your messaging.

With consistency, readers begin to know your tone and trust your voice.

Another thing that happens is you start to speak to the reticular activation system in people’s brains. They’ll begin to notice your tone and information. It’ll cause their pain points and your solution to appear before them multiple times. And at that point, they’re the ones convincing and selling to themselves.

Next blog post, take 30 minutes to an hour to break down parts of your blog. See how you can repurpose and format the information into 5 different social posts.

3. Share Frequent Content

An occasional blog or newsletter here or there is nice. You don’t fill up people’s inboxes too much. But you’re also losing their attention and loyalty.

When you’re consistent in your delivery of value and information, people begin to rely on what you share. Stop worrying about overloading and sending too much. If what you write is quality and beneficial, people look forward to opening their email or visiting your site to read what’s new.

Stop deciding what people want without giving them the chance to decide!

Start by choosing one day a week to release your blog and newsletter. Once you have a rhythm down, your readers will know and expect it. Plan out your content that week so loyal readers recognize and hear the same message.

It’s Never Too Late to Restart

If you haven’t been implementing these three practices into your blogs and newsletters, don’t sweat. There’s always today to start implementing these practices into your content and posts.

And once you start, take notice of the new engagement and sales that come your way.
